The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers towards the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency reported it truly is alarmed regarding the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no thoroughly sassa status functional office dedicated to service the area on a regular basis. The service level established for intervention experiences a substantial inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it hard with the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional resources to allow the servicing of all buyers and maximize access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
